Discovering Yourself: True Christianity

Discovering Yourself: True Christianity by Alisa Videos.

Introduction:
Self-discovery is a very important key to achieving our destiny in life. We can recover our destiny when we discover who we are and what we have been created to be. Self-discovery is like a pathway to reaching destiny.
Christianity is more a way of life than a way of worship. We all should learn to be more true with the way we choose to worship God believing in Jesus Christ.
In this sermon, we will be talking about a lot on how we can discover ourselves in God and worship the right way.

Memory Verse: II Timothy 1:9
"Who hath saved us, and called us with an Holy calling; not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began".

Anchor Text: I Kings 19:19-21, I kings 18:30-35

Like we read above, Self-discovery creates a path to our destiny and gives us the required push to get there. As long as we have not discovered ourselves, we will most probably keep going in the wrong direction. Those we were meant to bless might remain hindered, dejected and rejected. We all will discover God's plan for our lives in Jesus name - Amen!

Elisha was a prosperous farmer. He thought because he was doing well in farming, that he will continue farming all the days of his life. He did not know God had other plans for his life. One day, Elijah's mantle fell on him, he realized that farming was nothing even close to what God had in store for him. From the moment he knew he was destined for greatness, he discovered himself and what God planned for him. All of us are destined for greatness. Most of us think because we are successful in what we are doing in business, that is likely what God wants to use to bless us. By the time God answers our prayer for the showers of His blessings, many of us would have to either change our type of business or even leave our current line of business.

As the Bible says in Judge 13:24-25, we are told that the Spirit of God stirred up Samson's heart. Although he did not know everything God wanted to do with him, he knew he was different.
Sometimes, some of us sit and begin to feel or think to ourselves that we are not were we ought to be. That is a sign of the Holy Spirit trying to minister to our inner man. If the seed of greatness be in us, it will not give us any rest; That is the Spirit stirring us up to greater heights, if we so desire greatness, God will grant us greatness.
We can only survive in life when God has fulfilled His plans for us. Failing to discover our place here on Earth makes us failures despite our financial state or level of excellence.

Christianity is not a secret gathering or cult. We have to understand this fact. We must learn to practice true Christianity in order to discover ourselves true and true.
As the Bible (I John 4:1) says: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world".
When it was time for him to call upon his God, Elijah asked the Israelites to come closer so that they can see what he was about to do. There was nothing to hide. The Christian faith is not a secret cult. We do not hold our services with doors locked. Everyone is free to come and see what we do and how we worship. Any gathering or assembly that is done behind close doors is a cult, not minding the appellation they might be identifying with.
After preparing the alter, Elijah asked the people to pour water thrice on it until it was over flowing. This was intended to erase any doubt that he secretly hid fire underneath and also to make it complicated so that the power of God would be evidently displayed. He needed to make this complicated because he knew God makes complicated issues appear as they were easy. "How many of us know God that much?".
Any so called church or fellowship where their way is not as God has commanded, quickly leave such a church, a wrong gathering affects self-discovery. Where we worship is very important. If the pastors or spiritual heads there are living in flagrant sin, leave that place. Devil is out to derail a lot from discovering themselves. The devil is using false miracles and initiating people into cults.
As believers, if were we worship can only be differentiated from a shrine by the Bible being preached, then we are in cults. Jesus Christ does not approve of killing animals, humans and bath taking.
Jesus Christ came to set us all free from bondage so that we can serve God true and true, without any barrier.

Discover yourself today! Let no man deceive you, lean not only on your own understanding.
Any gathering that will hinder us from discovering ourselves should be avoided like plagues, for God has not ordered us to go against His words. Let us all learn to practice true Christianity as this is the way Jesus lived His life here on Earth.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, Please help me discover myself; help me to discover your plans for my life.
2. Lord, help me practice true Christianity.
3. God, please heal the world of the ravaging pandemic (COVID-19).
